I was pleasantly surprised by the variety here – having each monster type in three colors makes deck-building much more flexible. Really adds a nice strategic layer to the game without overcomplicating things.
Wasn't sure I needed nine promo cards until I saw the World Turtle art up close, it's gorgeous. The three color-coded sets make it easy to just shuffle in whichever monster fits the game night. My group's already begging for the Nian to show up again.
The blue, red and yellow versions of each monster mean we can actually tell whose card is whose during a four-player game, which the base game never managed. The World Turtle art is the standout, and the Nian Monster fits the Norse theme better than I expected.
