Played this with four friends last weekend and the engine-building really shines once everyone starts chaining spells together. Turns move fast for a game that supports six, and the arcane cards give you enough paths that nobody felt boxed into one strategy.

The box says up to six players, and honestly that’s what sold me—our game nights always have five or six people, and most games cap at four. We’ve already run two full sessions and the spell-casting combos keep things tense right to the final round.

The rulebook does a great job of walking you through the engine-building loop, and everything clicks into place by the second round. I've already played two sessions with five friends, and the spell acquisition phase keeps everyone engaged even when it's not your turn.
