The three tripods have way more detail than I expected for this scale, and swapping out the cardboard tokens for the eight human buildings honestly made the board look like a different game. The UFOs are a little small to pick up, but that's a minor gripe.
Dropping these in for the first game night was a huge upgrade—the UFOs and buildings have a satisfying weight to them, and the detail on the alien structures really pops on the table. Swapping out the cardboard tokens felt like a whole new game, honestly.
The tank and tripod sculpts have real heft to them, so swapping out those flimsy cardboard tokens actually changes how the board feels. I’ve already run two games and the alien buildings fit together cleanly, which is more than I can say for some other kits I’ve wrestled with.
